White-crested Laughing Thrush

Garrulax leucolophus

Animals of Asia Back
The white-crested laughing thrush gets its name from the fact that when a group of them are vocalizing together, it resembles laughing. Vocal as they are, it is no surprise that this species spends most of the time communicating with one another and foraging in the forest canopy. Males and females form strong bonds with each other, both assisting in incubating the eggs and tending to the chicks once they’ve hatched.
