Tiger Ratsnake

Spilotes pullatus

Animals of All Regions Back
This snake spends most of its time in trees. It is active during the day and can be very fast. They have good eyesight and are excellent hunters, killing by constricting their prey.

Tiger ratsnakes have colorations varying from lemon yellow with blue-black stripes and blotches to nearly solid black with yellow and orange markings. Despite their name, these are not “true rat snakes” and are more closely related to racers and coachwhips.
