Malayan Tapir

Tapirus indicus

Animals of All Regions Back
Malayan tapirs are stocky animals with a rounded back and a tapered front. This shape allows the animal to run through thick underbrush with remarkable speed. They are generally nocturnal and solitary animals, however when they encounter one another in the wild they can be very aggressive.
Tapirs are good divers and swimmers. They use this ability to hide from predators in deep water where they can remain submerged for several minutes.
